History

Information ethics [IE] has been defined as “the branch of ethics that focuses on the relationship between the creation, organization, dissemination, and use of information, and the ethical standards and moral codes governing human conduct in society [Wikipedia]. In other words, it deals with the life cycle of information from the angle of moral codes and ethical values universally as well as locally.

India Centre of Excellence in Information Ethics (ICEIE), University of Hyderabad, India is a virtual centre which was established in 2019 as a Chapter of International Centre for Information Ethics, Kule Institute, University of Alberta, Canada.
